22-pound pet cat holds family hostage until police arrive

#1 Post by Bob Juch » Tue Mar 11, 2014 2:14 pm

A 22-pound house cat "with a history of violence" trapped an Oregon family -- and their dog -- in a bedroom until police arrived to save them.

The incident unfolded Sunday night in northwest Portland after a ferocious feline named Lux turned on its owners. It all started when the family's 7-month-old boy pulled the cat's tail. In response, the cat scratched the baby on the forehead. The boy's dad, Lee Palmer, told police that he "kicked the cat in the rear" as punishment.

And that's when the fur began to fly:

"We're trapped, he won't let us out of our door," Lee Palmer told dispatchers after he and his family members and pet dog fled to the safety of a bedroom and called 911. The cat "has gone over the edge. He's trying to attack us -- he's very hostile. He's at our door. He's charging us." Palmer also told the dispatcher that the cat has a "history of violence."

I was beginning to think Tuck had gotten out & terrorized some people else. But these people are in Oregon & anyway their cat looked different & weighs more, so its still unsafe at any speed for me at home.

What pussies! Both the cat and the man.

The guy needs his ass kicked for several reasons. First of all, for the leaving the baby unsupervised with a known temperamental cat, secondly for kicking the cat for doing what temperamental cats do, and thirdly, for just being a wuss in general.

I hope our "Fur Bullet" doesn't get wind of this and start getting ideas.

I have to ditto all you said. I can imagine the cat has been kicked before for whatever reason which has made it not good to be around kids. None of our cats ever harmed our kids. That group of humans is fucked up. Blanket much?
Well, then

The family is deciding whether to take him back or give him up for "adoption." (Some news reports say he'll be evaluated by a pet psychologist, but that's unconfirmed.)

Barker and Palmer also got a call from the producers of the Animal Planet show “My Cat from Hell.”
They may keep him just to get on that show.
