American Hustle observations/questions
Watched it this past week; actually, twice. Once by myself, uninterrupted. Second time with peeps and it helped to see it twice. Anyway...
I was there in the '70's, at that ageishness, right at that time, and while a lot of the movie, especially the music, was very spot on, I was confused by Jennifer Lawrence's and Elizabeth Rohm's hairdos. I don't remember anyone, anywhere, wearing big, pouffy updos like that. Was that an East Coast thing? Or just another example of the archtypes, stereotypes of the characters?
Also, I do not recall anyone, anywhere, wandering around in a business environment with a dress open down to there, boobs flapping. Seriously.
I did love the movie, though. Christian Bale was so perfectly slimey.

I can't comment on the hair. I never focused on much above the neckline. In this movie, or in the 70's. The boobs weren't quite on display in the 70's as they were in the movie. I remember her! That hair I remember, too. Sort of the modified Farrah Fawcett. But it's not pulled up and poofy. Rita's hair looks like a prototype for 80's hair, which was big and poofy more so.
