Up until this point, Michael's parents had not been introduced. Cedric doesn't converse with them afterwards, either.

Through the end of this episode, which included Michael's introduction and two subsequent commercials breaks, we also haven't learned a single detail about Michael's life, aside from his home town. We don't know how old he is (he looks and sounds young--younger than college age, even), what he does, not even what he might want to spend the money on.

Boy, it's a good thing the APs review our audition applications and judge our audition performances so carefully!

When I was much younger I worked for the Golden Arches and one of my tasks was to lead tours of the restaurant (for kids' parties and senior citizen groups). As part of my presentation I explained the history of McDonald's - how two brothers, Richard and Maurice (affectionately known as Dick and Mac) had a restaurant in SoCal. They ordered a large number of milk shake mixing machines and that caught the attention of Ray Kroc, a distributor for those machines. He went to see why a restaurant would need so many and saw what the McDonald brothers had done. He bought a franchise and opened a store in Illinois. Kroc later went to buy out the McDonald brothers' rights to the name, the mascot ("Speedee Service") and ultimately forced the brothers out of business.

I was expecting "noodling" but "trout tickling" is close enough.
