GI Joe is 50

The iconic toy turns 50 this month.

In other news GI Joe has discovered that suddenly it is harder for him to get a job than it used to be for some strange reason.

GI Joe was one of my favorites as a kid; I ultimately got four of the five Joes (one for each of the main services -- sorry, Coast Guard!). My normally progressive mom, though, didn't let me get the fifth one (no, I don't mean the nurse one).
