great news
Hi guys, normally I only check in to chat or ask for prayers. I thought for a change I'd share good news.
A generous community member donated money to my school district for the 2 middle schools, specifically to get classic lit into the kids' hands. He wanted them exposed to great books and generate a love of reading. I got money to buy bookcases and books for every English class in my building. Imagine my joy in being able to tell the teachers this. We got:
81 classic lit books plus
81 modern retellings
81 adapted versions for kids who have cognitive defects
81 graphic novels
PLUS audiobooks, eBooks and money to run lunch time book clubs, contests and prizes.
Pinch me! No wait, don't pinch me. I don't want to wake up. It's the best grant ever. On this gray Chicago area winter day, the sun is shining in this library.

That is EXCELLENT news!

Splendid!! (Is there a particular reason for the repeated "81"s?)

Re: great news
Congratulations! Is 81 the donor's lucky number?
