Observations January 11, 2014 - Toady

#1 Post by SportsFan68 » Sun Jan 12, 2014 1:45 pm

Today's observation is quoted with our thanks to WinterGreen48 from a post of September 20, 2010.

More recently we have the example of Soviet genetics, where Stalin's toady, Lysenko, completely destroyed the field of biology in the Soviet Union (again, at one time a leader in the the field), in subservience to Marxist dogma.

As soon as I saw this word, I thought of Christmas Story, in which you were either a bully, a toady, or one of the nameless rabble who hid from them. But that's not exactly right, and I didn't want to look it up after I found Wintergreen's Most Excellent usage above.
