Onions probably improve the flavor.

I wonder if anyone ever says, "This tastes like ass," while eating it?

Some months ago, rat meat was passed off as strips of lamb in China. Now it's fox sold as donkey-meat snacks.
And in the middle of the latest Chinese food scare: Wal-Mart.
The retailer said it was recalling "Five Spice" donkey meat sold at its stores in Jinan in eastern China's Shandong province after authorities indicated that the popular snacks were actually made from fox.
Fox meat is cheaper than donkey. Wal-Mart said DNA tests found that the donkey snacks, a delicacy in some parts of the country, were made from meats of other animals.
Wal-Mart’s China chief, Greg Foran, said he was shocked by the incident. But China has been racked by tainted-food scandals in recent years, prompting many consumers to turn to imported goods and foreign-owned stores.
Wal-Mart, with more than 390 stores in China as of last February, has sought to ensure food safety and quality by developing partnerships with thousands of local suppliers and through efforts such as operating a food-testing mobile lab that moves among stores.
The retailer didn’t identify the supplier of the fake donkey meat.
The incident "has provided a deep lesson that we need to continue to increase investment in supplier management,” Foran said.
