So LB took me and the Poopyhead cat to the vet yesterday for our annual torture. The vet and her techs start talking about the good old days before I wound up getting kidnapped by LB and was living in the upstairs room above their office. They all tried to remember what I had been named, and concluded that me and my real brother were not the pair of black cats they named Evil I and Evil II, but the pair they named Spartacus and Xerxes after some stupid movie. Yeah, of course I was the one who got the lame name. I wasn't too thrilled, but then again, when am I thrilled by anything? I didn't even care that it was Friday the 13th.

I'm not sure I'm a Persian cat, but oh well. Bow before me. Yawn.

My mom named one of our cats Xerxes about 40 years ago. That poor cat! He came to live with us when the family next door moved out and left the cat! Someone there must have really picked on him; he was terrified of brooms and potholders. The rest of his years were a good life for a cat.

In my high school Econ class, we had to create and market an imaginary perfume for a class project. My group called ours Ozymandias. Yes, we all had British Lit that same semester and had just covered the poem....
