CSLS 11/29: Weasel FINAL edition

#1 Post by ShamelessWeasel » Fri Nov 29, 2013 9:18 am

Well it's the last day of the CSLS and I hope everyone enjoyed the run. The last one is the first idea I had for a game when I thought of doing this. The end really is in the beginning.

It's another theme game which given the history of the CSLS this time means nobody will get it. So I will give a hint.

1 point for the song, 1 point for the artist

3 points for the theme (hint think of the beginning of each song)

2 points for a krox

1 extra point for melly since I screwed up Melly's score twice this time. Now I will forget to even post it :)

1. With my big black boots and an old suitcase
I do believe I'll find myself a new place
I don't want to be the bad guy
I don't want do your sleepwalk dance anymore
I just want to see some palm trees
I will try and shake away this disease

2.There's a feeling I get when I look to the west,
And my spirit is crying for leaving.
In my thoughts I have seen rings of smoke through the trees,
And the voices of those who stand looking.

3.Deep in my soul, I've been so lonely
All of my hopes, fading away
I've longed for love, like everyone else does
I know I'll keep searching, even after today

4. Here comes the rain again
falling from the stars
drenched in my pain again
becoming who we are

5. Well I'm usually passin' by just about eleven o'clock
Uh huh, I never stop
I'm usually passin' by just around eleven o'clock
And if ya' let me cool you one time, you'll be my regular stop

6. We both lie silently still
In the dead of the night
Although we both lie close together
We feel miles apart inside

7. I've paid my dues
Time after time
I've done my sentence
But committed no crime
And bad mistakes
I've made a few
I've had my share of sand
Kicked in my face
But I've come through

8.And when the brokenhearted people
Living in the world agree
There will be an answer

9. To drape across your forehead
To swing concordant angles as you incline your head
Once with a girl I fell in love sometime ago now she had

10. Are you ready, Steve? Andy? Mick?
Alright, fellas, let's go!

3.Deep in my soul, I've been so lonely
All of my hopes, fading away
I've longed for love, like everyone else does
I know I'll keep searching, even after today

We've got tonight - Bob Seger

4. Here comes the rain again
falling from the stars
drenched in my pain again
becoming who we are

Wake me up when september end - Green Day

5. Well I'm usually passin' by just about eleven o'clock
Uh huh, I never stop
I'm usually passin' by just around eleven o'clock
And if ya' let me cool you one time, you'll be my regular stop

Ice Cream Man - Van Halen

6. We both lie silently still
In the dead of the night
Although we both lie close together
We feel miles apart inside

Every Rose has its thorn - Poison

7. I've paid my dues
Time after time
I've done my sentence
But committed no crime
And bad mistakes
I've made a few
I've had my share of sand
Kicked in my face
But I've come through

We are the champions - Queen

8.And when the brokenhearted people
Living in the world agree
There will be an answer

Let it be - The beatles

9. To drape across your forehead
To swing concordant angles as you incline your head
Once with a girl I fell in love sometime ago now she had

Bangs - They might be giants

10. Are you ready, Steve? Andy? Mick?
Alright, fellas, let's go!

Ballroom Blitz - Sweet I chose this bit of lyrics to try to cement the theme..oh well

Theme: each of these songs start with a single instrument and vocals before more instruments are added. Ballroom blitz kinda pushes this since the lyrics at the start are just over the drums.

Pastor I could not accept your theme since it is not the length (see Ballroom Blitz) but the number of instruments. Same with Esto.

Krox your theme was accepted

Scores:
I gave mntetn an extra point since I could not fit the game he sent in. Sorry

Third place is not bad, considering that I started the month nowhere near the top three. Plus, it's one spot better than I did in the last LS.

I'm sorry that I didn't get the chance to thank you for ramrodding this outfit, and that I didn't get the opportunity to play the last few games, especially Esto's and this one.

Unfortunately, we had to call an ambulance for my mom on Thanksgiving and I have pretty much been at the hospital since then.

So, thanks for overseeing the LS this month, Weasel! And, even though I didn't play every game, I think I read most all of them and played along JFF in my head, so thanks to the many contributors as well. I like having different styles of game writing within the same overall game.

Now I'm going to go to bed with Fanny and sleep until tomorrow morning. Dentist Day! That will be a treat for me (seriously).....
Sharing smokes and a cup of joe with my friend, Insouciant Ruffian. Good times!

Sorry to hear that your mom is ill and hoping for a good prognosis.
