Nice weather we're having-NOT!
The calendar says November and we're under a tornado watch until 8pm. The National Weather Service has put us in the very rare "high risk" area for severe weather. Ugh. They are also predicting winds of up to 70 mph tonight-we go under a high wind warning at 4pm and it lasts all the way to 4am tomorrow. I bet the power company will be very busy restoring power to LOTS of people. I bet next week we get a snowstorm, just in time for Thanksgiving

My wife and b-i-l are currently en-route from Southern Illinois heading back to Tennessee. They have seen one tornado already (in the distance) and when she checked in about an hour ago were cruising under some very dark skies in Southern Indiana.
There in a full-sized pick-up towing a 25' flatbed trailer so they have a lot of weight and fairly low windage.

I just finished watching the news (until the TV station got knocked off the air by the high winds) and saw lots of storm damage reports from all over the western half of Michigan.
Around here, there are over 13.000 people without power (and there may be more after tonight, when the winds are supposed to gust up to 50 mph). There are trees down(one hit a trailer home-fortunately the owner is OK) and it's generally a big mess. We got lots of rain, too. The roof of the high school in one of the nearby towns got partially blown off-I bet they don't have classes tomorrow.
I heard we might get snow next week. That's what's so great about Michigan-if you don't like the weather, it will change.

I was a bit surprised when I heard the tornado warning sirens going off this morning... and I looked out the back window and it was practically crystal clear and the sun was shining. The view from the front was a bit more ominous though....
We actually didn't have a tornado warning, just a severe thunderstorm warning, but our city loves to set its voice warning system off....
