$20,000 Pyramid: Shameless self-promotion
I finally figured out how to upload a couple of clips of my appearance on Pyramid to YouTube.
These were taped in 1977 and among the lost episodes that the production company taped over.
Neither the audio nor the video quality is good and it's in B&W.
I've included just the short clips from the 2nd and 3rd trip to the WInner's Circle.
Please be kind. I was 19 years old at the time and still don't have much of a fashion sense.

Bob Stewart and Co. let contestants wear the same outfit on multiple days in some cases. Always nice to have another memento of the much-revered NYC era of Pyramid. GSN has some episodes of NYC Pyramid they never got around to airing, likely from 1979 and 1980.

Very cool! How did you manage do get this clip? This was before VCRs were common, right?

Very cool! In the distant shots, you looked (to me) a lot like Johnny Galecki in the interviews where he isn't wearing glasses.

My father was a middle school principal and he had his AV guy tape the show. It was originally taped on VHS reel-to-reel. By the mid-80s I had it converted to VHS cassette and then to DVD format. Shame it wasn't in color but in retrospect, this may be the only surviving copy.TheConfessor wrote:Very cool! How did you manage do get this clip? This was before VCRs were common, right?

GSN claimed in 1997 or so to have about 260 episodes of NYC era Pyramid. They aired a fair number of ABC $20K shows dated between mid-1978 and mid-1979. In 2002, they surprised us and aired about 15 shows from 1973 and the CBS $10K Pyramid, all of which were taped at CBS TV City in Hollywood.

Very cool.
Yooo loooooked mahrvelous!
Great job. Must have been frustrating to have come so close with Rita, and to then have to just sit there for so long as time was running out. I'm sure she felt terrible about freezing up on the one. It's easy to see how that could happen, though. Other than that, she and Tony were both very good.
That one guy looked kind of like Stephen King.
