I typed in my home address and when I clicked on a "street view" a little leprechaun showed up on map, but my house didn't show up.

So getting back to Bob's new house, is that just a one car garage? Surely, they don't leave the Mercedes (or the Hummer or whatever the extra cars are) parked outside? :P

Maybe it's not really a one car garage, it's a tunnel to a subterranean parking structure.

So, he might even have a butler named Alfred.

No garage at all. The house was built in 1906. They used the barn.

What you're probably saying is a garage is the piano room.

You got that photo from Google Earth, right, Bob? It does seem to distort the perspective a lot in the upper half of the picture and I can't figure out why the trees on those hill look bare, as if the photo were taken in winter, while those close to the house are summery green. But, yeah, using Google Maps confirms exactly where that is.

That's good horse country. Jackie O used to have a place there, back in the day.

So, were these people advertising these rooms for rent in the paper or did they use more discreet methods to find a suitable tenant?
Some trees are green because they're evergreens. :)

No, this wasn't advertised. A Realtor told me about it. It wasn't even on the MLS.

If your street isn't outlined in blue when you click "Street View", then they haven't gotten around to photographing and downloading yor street yet.

This is interesting. From clues in the photos -- trees and cars, for example -- I can tell that the photos were taken in my town about two years ago in the late spring or summer.

I don't get a "street view," but the aerial views are amazing.

The Live maps aerial pic was taken before we moved into our house. But that's better than the Google aerial pic. It still shows an open field where my development is.

The Google street view shows my wife's minivan in the driveway.

I thought you said that round wing (a.k.a. "the helipad" :) ) was the piano room? I was looking at the right end of the main wing in Jeemie's picture, at what looks like an open garage door. I guess that's just a big picture window, but why would they put that in facing the driveway circle?

Ah, that's the barn.

Yes, they're more up-to-date with my old aprtments too. I saw my vehicle there as well. Google showed just dirt before a recent update but now shows the foundations.

That's the barn? The barn is an extension of the main house? How positively medieval!
