hello again... and I need your help

#1 Post by astrnomr » Mon Mar 17, 2008 9:57 am

Yes, I'm still alive, and I've found my way over here. It's nice to see that there are still a large number of you still around.

I need your help. A Rochester TV station is holding a "5 Grader Challenge" contest, and my son Peter and I entered. (Top prize is a 2009 Toyota Corolla and a $10,000 scholarship.) We attended the local audition, and he passed all five questions. (Well, I was allowed to help, but he knew most of them anyway.) However, instead of having the judges select who goes on the show, they've turned it into an internet popularity contest -- get as many people as you can to vote for yourselves, and the top 8 teams will compete on the show.

A clip from Peter's audition can be found here:

Voting starts tomorrow evening (the 18th) at 5pm EDT because they're still waiting to post the last few successful auditioners. I'm still not sure how their voting will work, but please get whoever you can to vote for us.

Thanks!

I will be delighted to vote for the son of my birthday twin -- early and often, if the rules permit.

It's great to see you, Stro. Come visit more often!

I second, or third or fourth the notion that you come visit more often. And I will be happy to vote for your son!

Yes, he's nearing the end of 5th grade, and he has already crossed over from Cub Scouts into Boy Scouts. Time has been flying by.

Thank you all for your support.
