Wedding Blog: BD**2 - 148

#1 Post by gsabc » Sat Mar 15, 2008 11:39 am

The weekend has turned out to be more relaxing than expected, but not for a good reason. Sis has come down with the flu. Today's deli lunch is off, as is tomorrow's party. I will have to bring down her gift on a later date. The good family news to report is that my niece's daughter-to-be is over five pounds and apparently doing quite well. Her birth date will be sometime around tax day. Her brother is reportedly looking forward to being a big brother. That will last until she gets mobile and grabs one of his toys. It's downhill from there.

Current idea for a "head table" will be a split between a traditional one and a sweetheart table (just the bride and groom). BD and SIL, GW and me, and SIL's mother and father. Nice idea.

Speaking of taxes, I need to go and complete ours. I still can't figure out why we don't get enough withholding. The owed amount still seems to be steep. Maybe the AMT is in effect and I'm not realizing it. I'll get back to you.
I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.

Maybe this happened so you can go meet that artist and get an autograph after all.

Down time isn't exactly the proper term. More like "I can do something else that needs to be done" time. Life's busy.

Do you have any significant sources of income aside from your salary? Withholding can't accout for any of that.

Sounds like your eBay sales are mounting up! :)

That's next year's taxes. I'm already downloading a bunch of eBay discussion forums that deal with that. The extra amount I owe is well above and beyond any of my obvious other sources. And I declare zero deductions during the year as a single taxpayer, to get the higher withholding rate.

I'll hijack GS's wedding blog for just a second, if it's OK.

I'm having a small wedding next Saturday with the reception to follow at my house. Hoping for good weather so we can have it out by the pool. It's being completely catered, so all I have to do is have the house ready.

I'm cool as a cucumber, really I am. Good vibes for good weather would be appreciated.

That's a most glorious sunshine, PSM. I hope it will shine on my reception here Saturday. Thanks! :D

Thanks! He is very sweet and smiling more every day. I've managed to misplace the memory stick on my camera, so I'm not taking photographs at the moment. It's on my list to get another one this week. I'm sure I'll find it when I'm not looking for it.

You know your life. You know how you operate over the long term.

Down time is essential in the Peahen household. Down time enables real results to happen when work time kicks in.

Good vibes coming from here...where the idea of having a reception out by the pool in March would be considered "freaking unbelievable weather". Unless the theme of the party is "ice fishing". :P

No theme here, except making mom and dad happy. :D

It was 79 here yesterday. If the ten day forecast holds out, we should be just fine. Of course, the ten day forecast changes daily!
