Yesterday after I got home from the fitness center I checked my home e-mail account and was surprised to find a message from jthelp@sonypictures.com. You may recall that the night of the online test our neighborhood lost power during a storm, so when the power was restored I send an e-mail to Sony explaining the situation and asking if I could take the test either of the next two nights. I didn't expect to hear anything back, and I didn't - until last night. Here's what the message said:
Hello earendel,
We’re sorry to hear about the weather trouble you had during the online test, and we also apologize for not responding to you more promptly. The make-up test was held on one night only; there were no other events offered after that. We will check our records to ensure that you are not disqualified from future test events. Would this be the email address that you used to login? [home e-mail address]
I wish I had known about the makeup test, but then again I probably wouldn't have taken it for fear of being disqualified for trying to take it. It appears, however, that they are going to determine whether my interrupted test counts as "taking the test" and will let me know if I'm still eligible for some other contestant opportunity.
It's not much, but at least they did respond.

They didn't even advertise the make-up test. Since they had one, it would have been nice if they could have responded to you in time for you to take it.
Today started out well for me. I won two tickets to see the movie Vantage Point from a local radio station. Nobody else was able to answer this easy question:

The 1973 oil embargo was triggered by what war?
