Don't feel bad, you're not the only one who doesn't read the opening. I might put that in there every day and see how long it takes for everybody to start putting down both parts. Ha!littlebeast13 wrote:fantine33 wrote:Scores from 2002
Again, much the same. Tbone, galahad and eyegor had perfect retention, ghost learned a little and lb, mike and starfish forgot a little.
At least this time I know where I lost my 5 points from last time. I didn't know you wanted the song along with the band in the bonus, but I guess I figured that out last time....
The detergent song was just a coincidence. I didn't start having laundry discussions on the Bored until 2004....

You mean we have to read the rules! Gack!fantine33 wrote:Don't feel bad, you're not the only one who doesn't read the opening. I might put that in there every day and see how long it takes for everybody to start putting down both parts. Ha!littlebeast13 wrote:fantine33 wrote:Scores from 2002

BTW, that laundromat song and whether I inspired its inclusion or not reminded me of this little ditty I wrote for myself back when I was posting Wierd_Al_Yankovic parodies a few years ago.....
I make my living while the rest all snooze
Filling the cleaners that you like to use
Don't matter what brand you choose
For your dirty laundry
Well I coulda been in weather, but I wound up here
I don't have to look good, just keep the backroom clear
Come over and buy my Cheer
For your dirty laundry
Take the display up
Take the display down
Take the display up
Take the display down
Pick the boxes up
Throw the boxes down
Tear the package up
Kick it all around
We got the bubble-butted ladies, they're a hard sell
Take all the caps off the Snuggle, then they stand and smell
Every flavor of Suavitel
For their dirty laundry
"Do you have the Swiffer Duster, or the orange Windex?
You know the boys at the Big K have cheaper Tilex
Do you have Sunshine Clean Purex
For my dirty laundry?"
<intermezzo>
Yes you really need a Wet Jet and a Downy Ball
And we have your Oxi Clean tubs in big and small
Don't forget the Fresh Rain All
For your dirty laundry
Take the display up
Take the display down
Take the display up
Take the display down
Pick the boxes up
Throw the boxes down
Tear the package up
Kick it all around
Dirty little blouses, dirty little socks
We have the detergent you need, in bottle or box
Got a sale on our Clorox
For your dirty laundry
We've got all the low end cleaners, we have everything
But when you're said and done they haven't cleaned up a thing
We all know that Tide is king
For your dirty laundry

'Cause I think Bobby's too nice to start a war:

I can't find any reference to Chris Le Doux ever doing this song....
And I obviously don't have an interest in it, because I'd never heard it.
But I was hoping Fanny was mistaken, because I had looked it up after I posted my answers....

I tried that argument last month, to no effect!fantine33 wrote:No Marley today? Dude, you know that in order to EARN the cellar you have to play!

I did read the game yesterday and if I knew you were taking attendance I would have answered "Present". Looking at the scores from 2002, it appears that my perfect ignorance has remained unblemished!fantine33 wrote:PS Final Standings for the month will also include an average score, just for you!

If you don't post at all, you get a DNP on the spreadsheet. And taking attendance doesn't count. If you really don't know any, pick a random song, answer "Don't It Make My Brown Eyes Blue - JJ Cale" and you're set for the day!MarleysGh0st wrote:I tried that argument last month, to no effect!fantine33 wrote:No Marley today? War, war, war. This war talk's spoiling the fun at all the parties this spring! What makes you think it would start a war? I, unlike some people (and you know I'm not talking about you), have no problem being wrong when I'm wrong.mrkelley23 wrote:'Cause I think Bobby's too nice to start a war:

I didn't click on your link because I don't know if it's a lyric site and, like I said yesterday, I don't go to those. However, that said, DUH! I had originally scored him correct. But before I hit post, I wanted to check my file to make sure I hadn't forgotten anything and it said "Chris LeDoux". So, I believed my former self had made sure everything was correct and just figured that TLITF had made the same mistake I did and said de Burgh instead of Le Doux.
How could I confuse that with the genius who gave us
Well, it's 40 below and I don't give a fuck
Got a heater in my truck
And I'm off to the rodeo!
Hey, wait! I bet I used The Rodeo Song first and then figured it would be too unintelligible on the censored board. So when I changed the lyrics, I just didn't update the artist on my answer. Ha!
I'll have the score corrected on tomorrow's standings.
