I don't know if I feel better or worse knowing that.
And better to know.

You're probably right. I'm pretty careful anyway, my neighborhood is a bit sketchy, so I won't change anything I do, but it's probably good to know.christie1111 wrote:It means your instincts are good!ladysoleil wrote:Great, the guy I always run into at the laundromat who totally creeps me out is a convicted rapist and lives a block away from me.

I think he just won the "ickiest person at the laundromat" award from the former title holder, the really dirty guy who dumps all his filthy smelly clothes on the floor to sort them. I give him credit for washing his clothing, but usually they look as dirty coming out of the washer and dryer as they did when they went in. *shudder*
Note to self: must move to place that allows me to have a washer and dryer when my lease is up in May.

One of the consequences of equal opportunities is the equal opportunity to do dumb, or evil, or nasty stuff.peacock2121 wrote:The only one in my town is a woman.
My sexism reared it's ugly head.
I just think sex-offenders are men.
Think of all the news stories about female middle and high school teachers having sexual relationships with students recently. In every case I can think of, these women followed the same pattern as the male teacher/molester: pick out someone who has no real defenses, i.e. a special ed student, an illegal alien, etc., groom them for a period of months so they're convinced you really "love" them, then ruin their life.

My friend told me that in California, this web-site is good for tracking offenders as well.
