When Tom was introduced, they cut to a woman and her two young children in the audience. I thought they might be Tom's family, but we later see his wife is someone else entirely.

Do they allow little kids into the tapings?
"I will win BIG on a game show this coming year!" - since gsabc isn't using it any more.

Did someone just say Louis is a heel?
Suitguy is not bitter.

feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

Officially, no. According to the Tickets page:
Members of our studio audience must be at least 18 years old.
They have made exceptions for contestants' families, on rare occasions, but I think it depends on the APs' mood. If the children weren't one of the contestants', then I guess it depended on the audience wranglers' mood.

And if they need more bodies to fill the studio.
I believe in the usefulness of useless information.

Ouch! I'd have gone with "eyeliner" and left with the consolation prize. I knew that Egyptian women used arsenic-based cosmetics and have seen representational art showing them with heavily outlined eyes.

"Bolt" could point either to Edison or Franklin. I had heard this before 2003, however.
