I learned this from a book by a Fox News anchor (Brian Kilmeade) called "The Games Do Count", dedicated to stories of famous people and the lessons that they learned from sports. One of the best things that a parent can do for a child is have them play a sport, both for the physical activity and for the life skills that are taught (IMO).

I agree completely. Both of my boys, one as a hurdler and the other as a distance runner, learned as youngsters that the harder they worked in training, the "luckier" they were in races. That lesson seems to have carried over to their lives as adults.

unbelievable.
She said, "I came to play!" ...well, maybe she should have actually "played" instead of guessing. Especially on a q that was second from the top of the pre-randomized list.
unbelievable.

Too bad she didn't come to win.

Something for those who made the Hot Podium this year: Are contestants clued in by TPTB that the unrandomized stack is the true perceived level of difficulty? Maybe providing level-of-difficulty information would help contestants next year, like on the first question the contestant would be informed that it is level 9. Then she would figure it probably isn't a guessable kind of item. Maybe they are afraid they will give away too much money if they do so, since contestants currently waste lifelines on level 2 questions fearing a trick and crash trying to logically guess level 9 questions early.

They do not say that the unrandomized order is the order of difficulty. That said, I am sure that I knew this when I got there. I am also pretty sure we talked about it in the waiting area. Adriana was one of the people that was there for the whole day that I waited before taping. Despite the order of airing, she and Greg taped right after me.

Remembering the order in the heat of the moment is non-trivial, particularly since they don't leave the original order up there for very long. I'm still working on ways to remember the top two and bottom three questions. --Bob

Why would you try to memorize both the top
and bottom questions? We discussed whether it's better to memorize the top or bottom order; I became convinced that it's better to remember the top two or three categories, because that's where they'll have the WWOQs.

Because if I'm sort of stumped on Question 6 but have a semiplausible guess, I'd like to know if three of my last four questions are likely to be cakewalks. --Bob
