top o' the mornin'®

#1 Post by earendel » Wed Feb 13, 2008 6:44 am

The aftermath of the winter storm is still being felt - local schools are on a 2-hour delay, while schools in adjacent counties here and in southern Indiana are closed for the day. I made it to work this morning, but already have heard that several will be in late if at all.

Same here even though it turned warmer and rainier before midnight.

I am down in Westchester. It was not wise for me to travel north last night after my seminar.

No sure when the driveway will be passable.

1-1/2 hours of shoveling out this AM. Another hour-plus to drive to work. Now pouring rain and predicted to do so all day. I ache, it's gloomy, and I dropped my lunch in a puddle of slush while walking through the parking lot.

ENOUGH WITH WINTER ALREADY!!
:x
I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.

It's 60 degrees here, but it rained so hard that my newspaper was soaked even though it was tied shut in two bags! I have it draped over the chairs in the kitchen so it can dry enough for me to read the comics. I'm not making the lady bring me another--she's too nice. I only torture her when I get no paper at all.

Now that's a hard rain!

BTW, I think it was tmitsss who posted this link -- I use it for when my paper is late or not delivered or too wet to read:

Just in case you missed it when he posted it the first time. I find it incredibly useful, and I've even discovered a couple of strips that I really like that my fishwrapper doesn't carry.
