It's amazing to me. I think she's the third or fourth contestant to hit the $25K right off the bat, and then proceed to get nothing else right.
Question 2 – Call It a Draw
Which of these games ends in a draw if there is no winner after forty-two moves?
A. Connect Four
B. Battleship
C. Jenga
D. Risk
This was a cinch for me because I could visualize the Connect Four board as 6x7. It really sucks to see another contestant be pretty sure, but not positive and deciding to use a lifeline rather than take the risk. The lack of risk-taking is probably one of the biggest differences from the show today to what it was when it first started, even the first couple of seasons in syndication.
Question 3 – Sports Online
HowToBreak80.com is a website devoted to the finer points of what sport?
A. Cycling
B. Bowling
C. Golf
D. Tennis
I'm kind of disappointed that she seemed to give up so easily on that question. It was a Level 2 for a reason.
Question 4 – Famous Firsts
The first submarine ever to sink an enemy ship was a vessel called the H.L. Hunley, which saw action during what war?
A. Korean War
B. World War I
C. Spanish-American War
D. U.S. Civil War
I don't know why I knew this, but for some reason "first submarine" and "Civil War" clicked together foe me.

One wouldn't have to know much about sports to PoE the correct answer here.
Cycling - 80 miles (no website necessary, just ride a lot), 80 mph (no chance without very special equipment and circumstances.
Bowling - 80 pins (my dog could bowl an 80 on a good day)
Tennis - 80 ? (no such score)

Perhaps you read about it when it was raised off the ocean floor about 10 years ago. It was pretty big news then.

Question 2 – Call It a Draw
Which of these games ends in a draw if there is no winner after forty-two moves?
A. Connect Four
B. Battleship
C. Jenga
D. Risk
You could probably play Risk for two days until somebody finally declared a draw; there is no draw in Battleship or Jenga. The first time I played Jenga, I think I got three moves before the whole thing came crashing down. That leaves the one I've never played, so I get this one right because I know what it wasn't, not what it was.

Probably a WE®. Any relation to Jeanane? Tim asked her if she read the books, to which she said that her boss was probably watching so "no, I don't". However she did mention that she spent time in the trivia section of the bookstore.

Definitely not Risk - I've played games that lasted for days. Definitely not Battleship. Jenga is the game where you pull blocks out, and probably wouldn't go 42 moves. That leaves only Connect Four.

The Hunley sank the USS Housatonic in Charleston harbor; it sank not long afterward.

I wonder who took the test for her?

Ha! You've never been to Charleston, SC
Suitguy is not bitter.

feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

I recently toured the Charleston Museum after a lapse of many years, I was impressed. One display had a Ivory Billed Woodpecker, a Carolina Parakeet and a Passenger Pigeon stuffed and on display. (in the same room with a stuffed Polar Bear go figure) And of course the replica Hunley is out front.
