How quickly Meredith dropped all the references to trusting that brilliant audience as soon as it was revealed they was wrong.

However, this was supposed to be a level 9 question, but I'd call it a WWOQ. What are the sources to confirm that this was really a popular Old West cocktail? The leading hits to a Google search on "cactus wine" peyote point to a song called Peyote & Cactus Wine by a group called The Glass Poets. Then I see a few references that always pair this with another drink called a Mule Skinner, which make me think that all these sites are, uhhhh, borrowing the quote from the same source, whatever it is.

I agree. I found few if any credible sources online to back up the peyote claim.

I also wonder why the contestant did not trust a 61% result from the audience, with no other answer even reaching one-third that high. How big a number would he have needed before he would have used the ATA result? This must be one of the biggest margins that was not trusted in the history of the show.
