Preview of Toy Story Mania

The attraction being built at the old WWTBAM Play It! site. <sigh>

Hmmm, sound like Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin over at Magic Kingdom to you? "It's like Buzz Lightyear to the 100th power," Allen said Sunday. It was the first time she'd spoken publically about the attraction in the two-year planning of Toy Story Mania!
To the 100th power? Uh huh.

What's the matter? Couldn't they manage to infinity and beyond? Merely to the 100th power, humph.
I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.

Tracey and I are going March 14-17, so I guess we'll be too early for even a soft opening of Toy Story Mania. We will get to ride the newly refurbished Spaceship Earth for the first time, though!

Were they doing more to that attraction? When I was there in 2006, they had added the "non-spinning" option line for the faint of heart. They had to get rid of the single rider line to add that one, which really annoyed me.

You are thinking of Mission:Space. Spaceship Earth is the big golf ball at Epcot. It had been down for several months (including December, when I was there with the family).

I won't go on the spinning Mission: Space. I don't want the rest of the day (and maybe vacation) ruined by one ride, which is what would happen if I tried it. I have done the green (non-spinning) side of it, and it's interesting once but not a must-do after that.

Oh, right. I remember the ride in the golf ball was very forgetable.

Of course it's not a must-do without the spinning. That's the whole attraction of the ride! Without it, all you've got is a silly movie and a little shaking.

Just try it after downing a pint over in the UK.

Your head will be spinning already!

(Seriously- I did that once, and I don't advise anyone to try that! I have no problems with Mission: Space, but after that beer, I could definitely feel the spinning!)

Before you had a choice, my husband rode it to see what it was like, and he basically said when you get to Mars, "I hope you don't have to fly back to Earth!" It was a No Mas deal. Now he takes Mini-me to the green side while the maniac older boys go on the orange side, and I take Erin to the playground. Whichever group comes back first gets Erin, and I take the odd man (either Rain Man or Mini-me) to whichever side they prefer if I have a rider switch or FastPass for the orange side. Green is usually a walk-up deal.
