top o' the mornin'®

#1 Post by earendel » Tue Feb 05, 2008 8:10 am

As noted in another thread the weather here is pretty lousy. It's unnatural to have temperatures in the 60s at 5AM, but that's what we had this morning. The cold front that's moving through (and triggering the thunderstorms, etc.) will drop the temperatures down to the 50s by tomorrow, but that's still warm for January in the Ohio Valley.

We're supposed to hit 56° today and a record-breaking 60° tomorrow.

We're getting two days of 70's before the storms come through, so Mini-me can wear his Super Bowl t-shirts before it's back to long sleeves...

It's still cold here. In the mornings it's in the 40's and during the day it's in the 60's. We had a bit of rain against yesterday, but it looks like it's clear today.

Suitguy is not bitter.

feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

We're mimicking South Carolina's weather with strong storms predicted for later today. The A/C was going full blast in the office yesterday, so I had to be sure and bring my sweater as my boss freezes the rest of us. I think it's the perfect temperature with no need for either the heat or a/c.

It's already 71 right now in central Mississippi. Samantha and Madeleine were thrilled that they could wear their crocs to school with no socks. My kids are easily pleased.
