I actually watched part of the show-I left after the Sesame Street question to go out for dinner.  FTR, they got some really tough questions. Here goes:1-right off the bat, I ATA.  I think it's fleas, because they are the least dangerous among the choices-and I've never played Centipede.2. way too easy3. another easy one4. the only one that is connected with NY is Long Island ice tea. I go with that.
5-ouch. The audience (as we saw) proved to be no help for them. I would use a JTQ here.
6. JTQ 2.
7. their bonus Q is easy to figure out if you read the words-the key is "brothers". If you look at the word "Hasbro" you can see that the first 3 letters are the same as the 3 letters that start Hassenfeld.

What I didn't like was all the indecision. Three heads are NOT better than 2.
I'm just a game show nerd.

I do have to admit that first question was a nasty question. Never played it and might have said fleas since it seemed to be the least menacing. I was able to cruise through the rest except question 6 which was another nasty question. Couldn't make the connection with Has-Bro. I believe Sesame Street has over 100 Emmys (one of those trivia facts I heard and it never left) so I figured that had to be the most.

This was the 5th question, unrandomized, so I wouldn't expect any tricks to it. So, in a nearly 30-year-old video game, we're supposed to remember that a flea was a "deadly" creature? Just put me down as a llama for this one. :x

Since I've already llamaed, there's no chance of being dursted by the audience here. Although if I had still been in the game, I probably would have been.

I didn't recall reading the name of this species, although I should have made the connection from remembering that it was similar to a triceratops. But what's the point of playing on through this stack from hell?
BBTranscriptTeam wrote:Mere announces that the show will do something unusual and present the next question as a chance for them to double the $10K that they will receive for their charity.
Ohhhhhh, that's the point of playing on. All the rules are being arbitrarily changed, so wrong is right, up is down, and why don't we just forget about the distracting trivia questions and continue the chit-chat with these charming characters. Next time, maybe you can show up in their pawn shop to hock your watch, Meredith, and get a half hour plug for your shows.

Having played this game rarely in the arcades not quite 30 years ago, but fairly often on my computer around 15 years ago, yes, the flea was deadly. The flea added more mushrooms after the player had blasted away a significant number of them, and could kill the player. The scorpion in the game, could not kill the player. It ran across the screen occasionally above the player.

As much as I like to see support for charities, was it really necessary to take a day and show this? Just give them the money and spare us.

The fleas dropped "randomly" from the top of the board, the scorpions came from the sides, and the spiders dropped in a zigzag pattern (IIRC). I would have liked to see what they would have done if the celebs had given the wrong answer on the first question.

I hope Chumlee was just joking.

I wouldn't have known this, so I'd be using a JTQ lifeline.

This is one that could be reasoned out given enough time and a serious contestant.

That's an excellent question, considering that this wasn't a theme week, so there weren't any more celebs in reserve and that they had to improvise a "double your guaranteed minimum" question for the final segment. Who knows if there were there regular contestants waiting in the green room when they filmed this?

If they needed to fill air time why not do one of the 1-question audience contestant things?

That's also an excellent question, considering that they created that special gimmick precisely to fill up leftover bits of airtime like that. We have no idea what deal TPTB made with the producers and cast of Pawn Stars, but I can only presume that they essentially promised an entire episode dedicated to this cast. From previous reports, the Pawn Stars had already done some cross-promotion for SyndieBAM on their own show, Monday.

If a $10,000 guarantee for a celeb's charity is the standard rate this season, TPTB got a bargain getting all three Pawn Stars for that same, low price.
