Prayers, thoughts, vibes for DK

#1 Post by Rexer25 » Wed Jan 30, 2008 7:18 am

The town she lives in was highly threatened by fire yesterday. The front that produce the northwesterly winds has moved to the east (sorry about that, ear), but the forecast is for 30-35 mph winds from the south today. There were some huge grass fires that got close to some residences, but there were no reports of any structure damage. With the winds today, any hot spots that were undetected yesterday could flare up in a major way today.

Prayers for you and yours, DK
Enough already. It's my fault! Get over it!

That'll be $10, please.

Wow, thanks for your kind thoughts and prayers, Rexer. The fire got within maybe a mile of my house, but as the news reported, no structural damage.

As you know the Paradise area (where I really and truly do have relatives) didn't fare so well, but no lives were lost.

Oh, and my son called me and told me that if I had to evacuate the house to make sure I got his remote control helicopter out. Told him I could only do that if there was room after loading up the Tupperware.

That goes double, triple, quadruple and whatever comes after that, for you Miss T! I haven't time to be around much but I did see what's going on with you. Mucho hugs, prayers and vibes to you.

I admire someone who has a clear sense of priorities.
Suitguy is not bitter.

feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.
