FEEEbay, the Better Buyer Plan,,,,
NOT!!
Listing fees going down BUT final value fees going up
Sellers will no longer be allowed to leave any feedback except a positive, even if the buyer hasn't paid, as Feebay says it is the Buyers who suffer...
(ummm, the buyers DON"t pay fees to feebay)
Buyers will now be able to demand concessions, free shipping and or refunds or threaten to leave negative feed back with impunity.
Feelings are running rampant.
Note this auction, for instance.
The questions are priceless.

Classic. WTH would they make the change on seller feedback to buyers. If you are a quick pay, getting good feedback has never been a problem.a1mamacat wrote:NOT!!

It's funny 'cause it's true....
When I saw first saw this on ebay this morning, I thought that Google had bought them or something and it was an elaborate joke. The big whoop about insertion fees going down (and then finding out it was a whole nickel! High-larious!) no final value fee increase outlined (talk about burying the lead) all that was funny enough. By the time I got to "you can only leave positive feedback for buyers" and "if we think that your transaction might possibly make a buyer feel the teeniest bit dissatisfied, we'll hold your money from you until they can be arsed to leave a positive feedback for you", I thought it was a real kneeslapper.
It's true? WTF???
After some thought, I think I figured it out. The fee structure starts in a month, but the feedback and Paypal shenanigans aren't until May or July (I forget). So that gives them time to "reconsider" and decide not to change the feedback policy or withhold payments. YAY!! Everybody's so happy that they forget all about the reaming they just took on Final Value Fees! Plus all the other fee crap that you have to go four pages deep to discover (like no refund on reserve).
Hey, remember when Coke sales were plummeting? Then they took it away and replaced it with crappy New Coke? And then suddenly everybody LOVED the old stuff? So they reconsider, bring back the Classic and sales soar?

The price was up to $9,999,999 but then now it is .99. The seller left a note saying that it was a ligit listing and people should only bid if they are going to pay.
Funny.
This is bad for good buyers too. Because it could reduce the amount of sellers and make the sellers more paranoid than they already are.

I have never actually negged a buyer, even though there were some that I probably should have. A few that I would have given a neg were NARU'ed before I could do it. But I'm sure that there have been several that only paid up after I filed an UID because they "could" have gotten a negative.
So it's really more the idea than the reality of it that hurts the seller.
On the bright side, I wouldn't have to use my buying ID for purchases any more.

Ouch. I could use a vat of that, or at least I'd need it if I continued to sell on ebay. I'm now done with that.
With this latest "upgrade" the hassle is officially not worth my time, and I have 100% feedback so I can easily see becoming a prime target for concession demands from buyers. It's not worth it anymore. I didn't sell often to begin with because it was irritating, but this seals the deal for me.
