OK, after a week full of crappy games for most, let's hope this game turns things around. It's Theme Thursday, so each of the following songs fits into some underlying theme.

1 point for the title, 1 point for the artist, and 3 points for identifying the theme....

What is with the Grace Slick fascination? At least if you stick with Airplane, I have a better shot of knowing them.

I've been meaning to ask a general Five for Fighting question. Since I don't know how many people read the answers, I'll try to remember to ask after this game is closed.

Unless somebody reads this who can tell me if the lead singer for Finger Eleven is the same guy from Five For Fighting.

I was going to go with literature, but Woodstock and Pac-Man makes me change it to FICTIONAL CHARACTERS. I like that the themes are getting a little more specific. Unless, of course, I'm wrong. Ha!

Little Red Riding Hood - Freakwater. At least that's who does the version I have, which is on "The Bottle Let Me Down - Songs For Bumpy Wagon Rides", which is my 2nd favorite children's album so far (behind TMBG's "No!"). If you agree with me that Nashville has put out very little that could qualify as country music in the past 20 years (I can see Hank Williams, the real one, slapping Garth Brooks across the face), this is a great kids' introduction to country music.

No. The lead singer (and actually the only member) of Five for Fighting is John Ondrasik. I didn't know who the lead singer of Finger Eleven was (other than it wasn't Ondrasik) but Wikipedia says it's a guy named Scott Anderson.

Theme? - I think there was an urge to get more specific than one needed here. The theme was just plain Fictional Characters. Literary or children's characters, while they describe most of the songs, doesn't quite fit the bill, so there weren't many three point bonuses to award today....
