I guess LJ hasn't seen Oprah lately. She's been promoting the No Phone Zone and telling stories about people (a lot of them teenagers) that have gotten killed or hurt because of texting while driving.
I'm just a game show nerd.

This was a toughy. My first inclination was teenagers = texing, but I would have probably double dipped between that and video games cuz of the Nielsen reference... but even that's still iffy since video games aren't broadcast on TV, just viewed thru the monitor. Has anyone ever heard of Nielson related to anything besides TV?

It's about time they brought him back.

So he's used two lifelines on the first tier - this doesn't sound like it's going to end well.

The Nielsen Co. does more than just TV ratings, but that's what they are most famous for. I guess "video games" was the closest thing to "watching TV".

Eliminating the PAF does save a lot of money.
Suitguy is not bitter.

feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

Finally! I guess I frustrated TPTB enough over the last 6 months that they caved in and brought him back instead of giving him the Barbara Mayhall Hunter treatment. :P

What is probably really depressing here is that L.J. had to wait over 6 months to watch himself crash on the $10K question.

Well, he knew how it turned out, but he had to deal with an extra six months of fending off questions from friends and family. :|

Nielsen does a lot of marketing research in a wide variety of areas. They apecialize in media and especially the TV ratings, but they are a very broad based media research company.

Number of times the average teenager send or receive texts in a month - 2,772
Number of times SSS and Mrs. SSS send or receive texts in a month = 0*

*- Does not include the occasional text the phone company sends me to try to get me to spend more money with them.

Pastor and Mrs. Fireball send and receive 0 texts in a month as well, not counting those from the phone company.

My mother, on the other hand, is a texting junkie.
