These posts are at odds with each other.

There will be one inauguration; it will be the glitzy public ceremony at the Capitol on Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at noon.

In the past, on occasion, there has been a private inauguration, followed by a more public ceremony. This happened in 1985 for Reagan's second term, but the reason was that January 20th fell on a Sunday. The public ceremony would have followed the next day but ended up getting cancelled due to extreme cold. This has more to do with the phenomenon that Inauguration Day is a federal holiday, but only in the capital.
