Bumping it up, and I'll add that another contestant was victim to a New England season transition question (remember when maple syrup was harvested)

Is this how Sprots developed her phobia about rodents? Did someone tell her about Ratoncito Perez when she was a child? :P

Yes, but that other contestant was from nowhere near the northeast, so she could be excused for being unfamiliar with maple syrup harvesting. Megan lives on Long Island. Has she never noticed that it gets muddy when the snow melts?

elwing thought that it might be either B or D, figuring it might be rainy in both transitional periods.

I'll excuse a College Sophomore for unfamiliarity with dirt roads, it suspect she has little experience with them. I remember when the chain gang came to dig the ditches before the road in front of my childhood home was paved.
Suitguy is not bitter.

feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

Good grief, Marley. I don't have a phobia about rodents. It's an anathema.

I never heard of Ratoncito Perez until this thread. Those poor kids!
