Ray admits he froze up on question one, and would have picked Re (lending support to my hypothesis that his mind locked on the three notes of the title). Meredith reminds everyone that if a contestant’s mind locks up, he should choose a lifeline.

Ray is writing a story about his experience on Millionaire. Ray was glad he got through the first question, else his story would have been very short (“except for the part about the wonderful host,” Meredith chimes in).

Once again I'm convinced the writers frequently custom-make a question for particular contestants- Rey Reyes... one of the answer choices is "re." Ironically, he didn't even pick that up, as when discussing it later with Mere he pronounced it "ree."

Wow, it has been a long time since anybody has used a lifeline on the very first question. And what was up with 4% of the audience picking the joke answer? I think that 4% had one too many scotch and so-das before the taping.

Either he was fixated on the title or he had a bout of Hotseatitis. Plus I detected an accent in his voice, so it's possible he wasn't familiar with either the song or the play/movie.
