Question Topics:
The question tree was never displayed! See next transcript...
$500 - ???
What is the full first name of founding father Ben Franklin?
A: Ruben B: Benjamin
C: Ebenezer D: Beyonce
Spoiler
B: Benjamin (9)
Great! An easy one! I was thinking that since the money tree had changed, the first questions would be more difficult. I have to admit, though, that when I first saw the question (before the answers were displayed), I thought, "Oh shoot! Was his real name not Benjamin?!"

$1000 - ???
The high school class commonly abbreviated as "pre-calc" is an area of what subject?
A: Mathematics B: History
C: English D: Music
Spoiler
A: Mathematics (10)
Ugh! I hated this class in high school and my face totally reflected that. A friend asked me if I thought the question was silly and thought that was why I made that face. I didn't feel like I had time to talk too much on the first day since I was getting in on the end of the show.

$2000 - Snack Foods
Pork rinds are a salty snack made from the deep-fried skin of what animal?
A: Chicken B: Pig
C: Sheep D: Buffalo
Spoiler
B: Pig (11)
Funny, I don't even remember this question being asked!

$3000 - Animal Kingdom
Adopted from observations of animal behavior, what term is used to describe a male who is the dominant member of a group?
A: Omega B: Epsilon
C: Delta D: Alpha
Spoiler
D: Alpha (9)
Um, or this one. What the heck? It's like I blacked out or something. :)
$5,000 - ???
A style of long, ornate earrings that commonly dangle against a woman's shoulders are known as what?
A: Teapot earrings B: Vase earrings
C: Chandelier earrings D: Banister earrings
Spoiler
C: Chandelier earrings (8)
I usually wear these. :)
Meredith comments to Liz that, "you look shocked!"
Today's Expert is Ali Wentworth
The time was going by so quickly; that's why I was shocked!
$7.500 - ???
Seen on T-shirts around the world, "Guerrillero Heroico" is a famous photograph of what iconic figure?
A: Mao Zedong B: Che Guevara
C: Mahatma Gandhi D: Fidel Castro

Liz looks worried for a moment, then answers
Spoiler
B.

Spoiler
B: Che Guevara (13)
This was really strange. I wasn't worried, I was more surprised that I got this question because one of the things my husband I talked about doing with the money was going to Argentina and I couldn't believe that this was really my question. I'm supposed to go there, obviously. ;)
The Horn Sounds
Though I knew this was going to happen, again, it feels like time went so quickly! I was happy that I hadn't used any lifelines yet. :)

Day one was great. And, I'm sure people have said this before, but that Meredith is such a doll. She was so nice!

I felt great once I was in the Hot Seat, not really nervous at all, which I was surprised about. I believe Clem said the same thing, like once you're in the seat, it just feels right. I was more excited and happy to be there than anything else. :)
