Sweepstakes for the Bored

#1 Post by JBillyGirl » Mon Dec 24, 2007 11:28 pm

I haven't been around here as much as I'd like lately. A lot of this has been because of my heavy workload during the day recently, which has kept me toiling at the office well into the evening a fair amount. Some of it has been because I continue to enter sweepstakes online. I suppose I shouldn't spend as much time on it as I do (about an hour per day), but it has been paying off in the last few months. Many of you already know that I won a trip to New Zealand in October as a result of a name-the-kiwi-bird contest, and I'll be taking that trip in February. I haven't mentioned, however, that a few weeks later I won a $1,000 gift card to Banana Republic, and that a couple of weeks ago I won a second, shorter trip to participate in a Vocation Vacation, or a chance to try out a "dream job" for a couple of days. (I may go for one in Florida that involves voice-over work, which I've always been curious about.)

I say all of this not to brag but because I have been so blessed with good fortune lately that I fell I must spread some of it around, and what better time to do that than Christmas? So in this thread I am going to post some sweepstakes that seem good and may have better-than-average odds for winning good stuff.

This one from Lifetime, "FaLaLaLucky," has a drawing for $2,000 each day through December 31 and a Grand Prize drawing for $50,000. OK, so maybe the odds of winning something aren't all that great, but what the heck? There's good money involved, and like they say at the New York Lottery, "Hey, you never know!"

This Duracell sweep has cash prizes of $100, $1000, and $5000; there are also many Duracell battery chargers to be won, I guess for those of you with Duracell rechargeable batteries (or who'd consider getting them):

Here's a sweep from McAfee called "Triple Play," and it has a bunch of instant win prizes, including some laptops but mostly gift cards/certificates from Circuit City and Amazon (watch out for "faux Santa"):

Those of you still with Go memberships can use them to enter this sweep, from Live with Regis & Kelly. There seem to be 75 prizes, all good ones, including Roombas and GPS systems. don't know if any have been awarded yet, but like the others in this post, it runs through December 31:

Time for bed now. I'll post more sweeps later, maybe tomorrow if I get a chance. Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night! :D

THANK YOU!

Because of you, and Timsterino, I've been entering contests too! No trips yet, but I did just win $100 amazon.com gift certificate from writing a local review on yellowpages.com (now over).

You're nice to share!

--dimmzy, who'd be REALLY happy with the $25,000 from Staples ...

At the risk of diminishing our already minuscule chances of winning, here's the $25K Staples sweep dimmzy is talking about:

You need a UPC code from an HP ink combo pack to enter. You can use mine (and yes, I did purchase the ink myself, from Staples): 883585179497. Merry Christmas and good luck to all! :D
