Means we'll never see BAM in prime time again. I mean....
I mean.
If ever again there is a show you can (supposedly) get on by passing a test but not an audition, somebody waken me.
Y'all know Duel instead of BAM during WRITERS' STRIKE

Prolly right that we will never see BAM in prime time but BAM writers are WGA and are on strike.ghostjmf wrote:Means we'll never see BAM in prime time again. I mean....

There are plenty of already-written questions not used yet.
Duel presumably was filmed before the strike? I mean, it has pre-written questions too, but my guess is the tiresome pro-wrestler "I can take that person" kind of stuff, plus much of the patter, is just as scripted as it is on syndi BAM. They do have to pretend they're fitting it to the person (actually, they're fitting it to the role they auditioned the player for) so it probably gets a rewrite at tape-time.
Ditto for the last syndi-BAMs of this season; did they all tape before the strike? If not, we could actually get some unscripted patter at some point this year.
I might actually tune in to Leno to see how "unfunny" someone who at one time wrote their own material is without writers. Conan is unbearable with writers, & Letterman totally obnoxious all on his own, so I'll pass on those. Though what the radio said this morning is that because Letterman owns his own production company, & agrees to the strikers' terms, the union may give his writers a pass & allow them to return to his show. He's still so obnoxious I can't watch him.
What I really want to see is Craig Fergusen, whose stream-of-consciousness intro really always has been unwritten (except by his, uh, consciousness). The skits etc on the show are written, but the opening monolog isn't.

Duel had nothing to do with it.ghostjmf wrote:Means we'll never see BAM in prime time again. I mean....
