This weekend was one of those that makes me glad that I can come into the office and get away from it all (so to speak). Saturday night our DIL asked if she could borrow our car to go visit a friend (neither she nor the friend have a car). We agreed, and off she went. About 2:30AM we got a call - the friend was calling to try and get in touch with our son because DIL was too sick to drive and she (the friend) was too drunk to drive. Our son didn't get the message, but elwing did. The friend must have called back two or three times in the next 20 minutes scared, confused and otherwise frantic. Since we only own one car our options were limited. Finally elwing said that she would call a cab and come down to where the two girls were. So she did (I volunteered but elwing thought it would be better if she did it) and ended up having to take the friend home (over in Indiana) as well as make sure our DIL didn't get sick in the car. Sunday afternoon DIL explained that she had drunk one glass of 100 proof vodka on an empty stomach and that's why she got sick.
Then yesterday evening our sanctuary choir joined with the choir of a sister church to perform Gabriel Faure's Requiem at the sister church (we'll do it again at our church on the Tuesday of Holy Week). The chancel of the church wasn't really big enough for two choirs, so it was cramped and hot, and we were in our choir robes. Not the most comfortable setting, but the music was gorgeous.

Be thankful that your DIL's friend had the good sense to keep calling and not attempt the drive herself.

We have heavy T-storms right now and our poor dog is shaking so hard I expecting his fur to start to fall off from the vibrations.
