A comment on birthdays
Today, I turned 50.
The big 5-0. Halfway to 100. You know - really old.
And yet, the day continued. I had a full day of work - lots and lots to do including a late meeting that didn't even start until 5:30 and was an hour away from the house. MrsJaybee had an evening class with her puppy - also an hour away but in the opposite direction. Jaybee son #1 was in Middle TN all day cheering his HS BB team in the state championship tourney (they lost, just barely to a much higher ranked team). Jaybee son #3 had soccer practice at the end of the day. Jaybee son #2 was home. All in all, too busy of a day to set aside for a B-day.
Although MrsJaybee was out until a few minutes ago, it turned out that I and all three boys arrived at the house at about the same time this evening. None of us had eaten, so we headed out to a local steak place. Son #2 drove. I paid. I spent an hour or so with a good meal while having interesting conversations with all three of my sons.
It's been a very good birthday.

Oh, Jaybee, I'm sorry we missed it.
50 isn't so bad.....it took this long for us to be so wonderful
Spending the evening with the boys was a wonderful time for you I am sure. Just be on your guard for this weekend, my friend.
Welcome to the other side of the hill!!!

This side of 50 has been great to me. I wish you the same experience (minus the hot flashes).

I will be there far too soon myself. With any luck I will be swimming with wild dolphins off the coast of southern Mozambique and/or KZN on that particular day and trying to pretend I am not really 50. But with my luck in travel planning lately instead of letting me swim with them they will serve me up to a great white which I guess would make me the steak dinner...

Happy half century!
My suggestion....pick a body part and get rid of it. Then pick a second body part and replace it.
Worked for me during my 50th year.
