WTH?

So elwing calls me and invites me to lunch. Seems that she went to a job fair that was being held at the convention center downtown, not far from where I work. Over lunch I asked her how it went and she said it was very strange - various companies had booths and people in them but no one was taking resumes and most of the people in the booths didn't even know what jobs were available. They told her to go online and submit her resume. WTH??

Maybe they all bought space months ago before the job market tanked and figured it was better to have interns or something show up instead of being no-shows?
