I'm just not feeling very appreciative and its bothering me
O.K. When my surgery was announce the ladies at the church and the ladies in my wife's bunco group all wanted to chip in and help by providing meals. That is a wonderful thing. That is what church and community is about.
When I had my surgery last summer the same was offered but my wife declined as our schedule was just to hectic and unknown to schedule the meals. Besides, it was me laid up and not her. She still had time and abiltiy to cook the family meals.
But this time she felt she needed to accept the generosity, even if not needed.
O.K. The first few nights were good. Fried chicken (from Popeyes, but only the kids were home and they liked it). The second night was a mexican pizza. It was delicious. Since then, though, we've had lasagna 4 times. Whole lasagnas. So enough for 12 nights.
There is a whole uncut, uneaten lasagna in the fridge and we got a brand new fresh cooked one tonight. Lasana, salad, and garlic bread. Yep, same as Thursday, Tuesday, and last Saturday.
I'll have some salad and garlic bread tonight, but will freeze the two lasagnas. I don't know what else we'll have. I feel bad, but I just can't eat any more.
I told my wife if she ever coordintates meals for a family in need, to coordinate the menu as well as the nights. Not to dictate what everyone brings, but I'm sure if you are bringing dinner night 4 you'd like to know if they've already eaten something once. or twice....or thrice.

Maybe you should change your signature line.
Some times you feel like a lasagna, sometimes you don't.

You know, my sister is undergoing some rather intense radiation and chemo and she has the same issue! I gave her some very practical ideas:
1) get Pillsbury crescent rolls, place small pieces of lasagna in them and deep fry them. Lasagna tempura!!
2) take off the top layer of noodles, scrape out the meat sauce and use the meat sauce for Italian tacos!
3) Now take the noodles, rinse them off, throw them in the frying pan with some veggies and have Lasagna Stir-Fry!
4) Get a turkey, stuff it with lasagna and have Italian Thanksgiving Dinner!
Yum!

Just be thankful you don't live next door to me (probably for more reasons than one).
You'd have Beanie Weenie casserole for dinner.

Our church has women who take care of coordinating meals for just such situations and they take pains to make sure that meals aren't repeated too often.BackInTex wrote:I told my wife if she ever coordintates meals for a family in need, to coordinate the menu as well as the nights.
