Will their own insurance allow for car rental costs? Probably not enough, huh...

Some good info: If anyone has a United Mileage Plus Visa card, and mileage built up, (maybe other airline programs do this too, I don't know...) they can use their miles to pay for rental cars - we do this all the time. You just have to go to the website, click on the "redeem miles" section, then click on "any car rental, any time" or whatever it's called, make the reservation thru the site, pay with that credit card when returning the car, and then when the bill comes in you go back to the website and put in the info from the bill and you're reimbursed the money spent while mileage is deducted from your account. This can be done for hotels as well. We also use this system to get reimbursed the $60 yearly fee for the card itself. Seems a bit complicated, but it only takes a few minutes and it's worth it.[/quote

They did not take the rental option on their insurance....

Damn! Now you've gone and told everyone! I've been doing that for years as trying to use the mileage for an actual flight doesn't work so well.

I have curves too. Problem is that mine curve out.
Would you rather have a concave chest and knock knees?
Nope. I tell women, "Some guys have just a six-pack; I have a whole case!"

We don't, and my dad didn't. It's not worth paying for when you have family members around--there's always a car that's available or you can share grocery runs...
