Why I like American Express

#1 Post by kayrharris » Mon Mar 09, 2009 9:44 am

With all the wedding stuff going on, I had a tiny little mishap last week that I just didn't bother
to deal with at the time it happened. Thursday night I had a bunch of people over for an informal
dinner. i was taking photos and had Chapman on my lap. He managed to knock my camera out
of my hand, which went crashing to the floor (a nice hard travertine tile floor), hit right on the lens
and promptly quit working. It turns on, but the lens no longer opens all the way. It keeps telling me
to turn the camera off and back on again.

Now I don't buy real expensive cameras, cause I'm electronically challenged and need pretty much a
point and shoot model anyway. I still had my old Sony Cybershot, so I just switched over to that one
for the rest of the duration of the wedding. I had purchased my new camera that went crashing to the
floor just before Christmas, but I wasn't exactly sure of the date.

Last night I figured I'd better look that up. Since I had purchased it from Sony.com, that was no problem
at all. I purchased it on 12/08/2008. I dropped it on 3/05/2009. The purchase protection you get from
American Express on your purchases, including accidental damage, is for 90 days. Whew! I just barely
made it! I gave them a call and they are reimbursing me for the camera.

I like happy endings! :) :)

Awesome.

I love my Canon Powershot. I like that there are so many options for us lay people now.

Cool! You two can bring your nice new cameras to Vegas, I'll bring my piece of crap Olympus, and a marvelous time will be had by all. Kay - you're still coming, right?

So, who else is on board Skoop... should we start a roll call?

I've booked a room at the Hardrock; my high school homegirl bestie is gonna meet me there. Fun!
