Even though you only have 24 posts in 4 1/2 years (I didn't check the accuracy of that) I can honestly say I don't think you're a stranger around here to anyone except someone that is very new to the group.

I always read the QoD but seldom participate because I know I would probably miss at least one or two days a week for some dumb reason and wouldn't be able to keep up. I just try to learn stuff from watching the rest have fun participating.

Note I did not volunteer for LS, I put way too much time and effort into that one and I probably still have the spreadsheet to prove it. Ha!

I have already written up LS games for the first week of December. If I can keep the momentum going this week, I will probably make an official announcement on Friday....

Because I have 24 (make that 25, whee!) posts in 4 1/2 years? My meaning was pretty much that since I haven't been around, I didn't know if there was still a protocol in place as to who ran it next or if the person who couldn't finish the previous month was first to give it another try or what. Also that there are many people who don't even know me and wouldn't really care to respond to a stranger.

The overwhelming majority here have been around since at least 2001, therefore most people should remember you and the fact that you were once a regular. And besides, once you've been a regular, you're always a regular on this Bored!

Of course, I am reminded of the time last year when jerr came out of lurkdom after 6 years and HoltDad wondered why he had to listen to the opinion of a newbie on the Bored (I guess it didn't help that due to a clerical error, I had left jerr out of the rankings all that time)....

Ha, I was going to give you outrage that you would question the accuracy of littlebeast. Then he chimes in to let me know that I misremembered him saying my last post was July 2003 or else it's pitifully clear why there won't be any MATH questions in the QOD.

I thought there had been quite a few new people since 2003 (or 2004, if you say so, although I think that last posting was just a couple and it had been a while since then), because there are a lot of names I either don't know or am vaguely aware of but I guess have never had congress with on the GO board. But I'll go with 'once a regular, always a regular'.

And jerr being questioned cracks me up. Where is my favourite slide rule maniac anyway?

Even though you're a Mr. Beethoven fan, and I'm a Mr. Mozart sort of girl, sometimes questions have answers that I learned at Home School High School, and sometimes I like to take a break from the rigors of composing. I wouldn't know all the answers, though, so you wouldn't have to keep my score if that would be too much trouble.

Of course you can play, you're a regular, aren't you? Ha! And be on the lookout for the "Rock Me, Amadeus!" category. I like Wolfie (he lets me call him that, hey I think I just figured out why you're a Mozart girl!) quite a bit. He's easier to play on the piano and I was very sad when I had to give up my outdated cell phone because my ring tone was Rondo alla Turca.

And if you answer, I will score. Compulsives like me LIVE to keep score. One of my nicknames used to be The Human Abacus. If your Mom plays, try to get her to answer first so she can't try to look at your paper, she's slivery that way.

Aside: What is the deal these days? In grade school one of the first things we learned was how to do math on an abacus (no stone table and chisel jokes, please) and my nephews don't even know what one is.

I liked Mr. Mozart from the moment Miss Kay played his music for me. Only later did I find out that his name was Wolfgang. I confess that, in those days when I was just starting to learn stuff, I thought his name meant "gang of wolves," which is very much like "pack of dogs."

When I was just starting home school, I learned a lotlotlot about math from this virtual abacus. Maybe your nephews would like to play with it.

I needed help because I could only count to 20 on my toes and dew claws, plus another 6 for my nose, ears, eyes and tail. I knew that wouldn't be enough numbers.
