Our pair of resident geese are pacing back and forth on our still-frozen pond, staking their claim to the prime nesting spot. There are some other geese lurking on the other side of the brush, waiting for an opening.
It may feel like spring this weekend, but they better not start nesting yet, or they may have to abandon their eggs in another late snowstorm.

my geese have already laid a dozenish eggs
and carl the duck has impregnated his harem
none of the girls sets on the nest for more than an hour
I dont torture mallards all the time, but when I do, I prefer waterboarding.
