Ken is back from Italy but his luggage isn't.
He also has a complaint about Southwest's latest dumassness.

Someone pass the word to Ken: If he ever sees his luggage again, it'll be a miracle.
Have I already told the story of our trip to Rome via Heathrow? 8 people- our flight from NYC to Heathrow was delayed, so we missed our connection. We were re-routed via Munich, sent on our way and told that our bags were on the plane.
The bags were still in London when we arrived in Rome. We then had 3 days (we were on a tour) to collect our bags, or we would have to figure out how to get them to catch up to us.
Three times in three days we went to the Rome airport to meet flights and go through bags. There are literally hundreds of bags in a dozen spots in the terminal, just standing there. When I heard the "Do not leave your bags unattended" announcement, I laughed out loud.
It was only through diligence, begging people to let us into locked rooms, and uncanny luck that we got all eight bags before we left Rome.
Ken- there's no way you're going to buzz your way out of this one.

Not too far from here is a store that sells the luggage that airlines have lost.

When I arrived in Heathrow from JFK, neither of my bags were with me. One went to Paris and the other came on the next flight. I waltzed though customs, so it wasn't all that bad.
When I flew to Boise a couple of months ago, my bag arrived before I did! I went to the luggage office and got it before the others on my flight got their bags from the carousel.

I suggest next time folks consider going the other way!
Traveled from Atlanta to Honolulu (on Delta mind you), with a side trip to Maui on Hawaiian Air (and a helicopter flight to Kahoolawe and back thrown in for good measure), and then onto Bejing by way of Seoul via Korean Airlines, then onto Lhasa and back to Beijing on Air China (with a one hopper back to Beijing with a very short turn around time and they wouldn't check the bags all the way through for some strange reason). Then on to Ulan Batar on Miat Airlines and finally a return to Atlanta on Korean Airlines with a stop again in Seoul, where they rerouted us from a Seoul/Dallas/Atlanta connection to a non-stop from Seoul to Atlanta even though the bags were already somewhere in the bowels of the system with the original flight tags still on them.
Never lost a bag and every one arrived on time. Kind of amazed to be honest!
