He was brilliant.

The Riverworld series is one of the few sci-fi universes I have read besides Heinlein. Loved it. Loved the idea of it. Loved the interactions between and among historical and fictional characters in an otherwordly place.

I enjoyed his "Riverworld" and "World of Tiers" series. RIP.

So who's left from First Fandom, now that Clarke, Farmer and Ackerman are recently gone? I can think of a couple of the 2nd generation (Silverberg, Ellison) and there are certainly more of that group around.

I'll have to put the Riverworld books on my library list for rereading. RIP.
I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.

Frederik Pohl is still alive and kicking; he'll be 90 in November.
