Didja ever feel like...

#1 Post by T_Bone0806 » Wed Feb 25, 2009 3:37 pm

...you were Mr. Bill, and the rest of the world was Mr. Sluggo?

Mr. Hands: Hey Mr. Bill, that was quite a project you just finished last week, rebudgeting those 27 cases with the new rates for the Holy Terrors Daycare Center!

Mr. Bill: Why yes, Mr. Hands, now maybe I can tackle those other cases I had to put on hold in order to finish that project!

Mr. Hands: Uh-oh, Mr. Bill, it's the new administrator for the Holy Terrors Daycare Center, Mr. Sluggo, on the phone!

Mr. Bill: I don't wanna talk to him. He's gonna be mean to meeeee.

Mr. Hands: Nonsense, Mr. Bill. He just wants to let you know that, after doing a little more examination of the operations, he's come up with new rates for their services. You're going to have to re-do ALL of those cases!

Mr. Bill (as he's flattened by having 27 thick case files thrown on top of him):
Ohhhhhhhh Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There was a time when both of my overnight managers used to call me "Mr. Bill"....

Given that we have people with nicknames at work like "Roids", "Nazi", and "Pockets", I guess it could've been worse....

I don't think I want to know how they got those nicknames.
I believe in the usefulness of useless information.

You probably don't want to know how we operate on the night shift....

That is correct.

Did Sprots get a gus?
Suitguy is not bitter.

feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

I dint know it was up. LB gave me a break, he said he waited about a minute to try to snag it -- which happened to be a second after my random post.
