And apologies to ASU or Illinois, as one you may suffer as a result.

I think Hawaii deserves their moment in the sun. ASU and particularly the Illini are not generally first tier teams either and if they want to guarantee their moment in the sun they need to go undefeated as well. Or at least not lose to the likes of Iowa or even Michigan in a down year, even if you did happen to catch Ohio State with their pants down. Of course I am still keeping the jury out on Ohio State waiting for them to impress me against LSU. Or whomever ends up in the mythical championship farce.

ASU has perhaps a little better claim and seems more likely to get left out. But they should blame the Rose Bowl for taking the Illini, if they do. But I don't have a problem giving Hawaii their shot.

I don't understand why, in this season of all seasons, why no one is seriously giving Hawaii a shot at the title game. After all, everyone seems to agree that OSU is getting in by something of a fluke, given their relatively weak conference this year, and the fact that they're the only "major" with only one loss. Hawaii has kept undefeated, played a couple of ranked teams, has a "name" coach (who it sounds like will desert them after this year), a genuine Heisman candidate at QB, an exciting offense, etc.

This year of all years, a school like Hawaii should get their chance.

Sooner fans, what would have happened last year if Boise State had played in the championship game, hmmmmm?

Needless to say but Swampyturtles is very happy! It is her crew on the fielsd when Hawai'i plays at home. She is up in the command center since Aloha Stadium is in her jurisdiction.

But I don't think she gets to watch much of the game.
