and Big J is one of them.
last week he had a cough and sore throat and fever. So he left school at noon and went home sick. Was home the next day too, as he had a fever.
This morning he complained of....a cough and sore throat and fever...
He was dosed with cold medication and send to school (boo hiss bully mother who actually hauled out the thermometer)
Mother called Father and advised of the "illness"
Noontime, Big J phoned Father to complain of... aches and pains and stuffy nose" Father said he could leave, provided he went to his afternoon class teachers and collected the days assignments to do at Dad's house. Big J suddenly decided he would try to "stick it out" and would call Mother later if still feeling ill.
'sigh'
I suppose I should be pleased he is such a really poor liar LOL

You are not gonna wanna hear this but:
I have a body temperature of around 96.00 Fahrenheit. Sometimes its more like 95.00 Fahrenheit.
Many was the day when my Mom took my temperature, said "its only 99.00 Fahrenheit! You can go to school", & sent me to school. So I went, dutifully, to school. Running for me what was quite a fever.
Prolly cooked my brains into what they are today.
(Knowing all this, when I had a fever of 104.00 F last spring, I was packing myself in ice to bring it down. Too late for the brains, though.)

My mom couldn't pull off sneaky either.
If she did manage to sneak something in, both plausible enough to be believed and appropriate in expression, she would snicker about the time she got the last word out. Busted! Her brothers did not suffer this handicap, if it is a handicap.

It would be funny if he was so sneaky that he was planning some minor "failed" attempts at sneakiness so that when he REALLY needs to be sneaky later on, you suspect nothing.
