Rough day yesterday - connecting to Web sites was hit-or-miss, for both commercial and government sites. What was normally accessible would come up with the "404" message, then, thirty minutes later, no problem connecting. No explanations were forthcoming and today everything seems fine (so far).
Our trivia team placed second at the contest at our church on Saturday, but we believe we were sandbagged. The purpose of the contest was a fundraiser to send some of our high school seniors and college freshmen on a mission trip to Morocco. Not surprisingly, one of the categories in the contest was about Morocco. However the questions that were asked were ones that would not fall under the heading of "general trivia" but were areas that the group had studied. One of the teams had one of the adult leaders of the trip and his daughter, who is also going, so not surprisingly they scored 100%. We did not, and that made all the difference.
Our Sleep Number® bed arrived yesterday. So far all I can say is that my number isn't 40.

Sorry to hear about your second place finish and the way it occurred. We play in our championship Monday next where the winning $500 goes into our pockets. Last night we missed the final question on booze. Founded in 1608, what is the oldest licensed whiskey distillery in the world?earendel wrote:Rough day yesterday - connecting to Web sites was hit-or-miss, for both commercial and government sites. I believe in the usefulness of useless information.

Old Bushmills (I looked it up) - though there is one dissenting voice:ulysses5019 wrote:Sorry to hear about your second place finish and the way it occurred. As for our contest, the prizes were T-shirts and candy bars, so no great loss.
