The Seersucker Solstice in the Hospital

#1 Post by themanintheseersuckersuit » Thu Feb 19, 2009 10:44 am

The Silver Seersucker Solstice got mugged the other night while waiting out side my office. At 7:26 pm someone decided a car that good looking must have good stuff inside, so he broke in and stole 2 recorded books from the library and a camera. More than a $1000 dollars damage to the convertible roof, although the damage was not easily noticeable. The security camera captured the drama. The whole episode took 4 minutes, from the time he started to attack the car until he ran off with my stuff after the car alarm sounded.
Suitguy is not bitter.

feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

Sorry, suitguy. When I drove a droptop, I simply left it unlocked and didn't leave anything in it that cost more than I would have to pay to repair the roof.

I envy you your little silver beauty. I hope she's back on all fours soon.

Gives new meaning to being "ripped off". Sorry. I never put the top up on my convertibles. Of course I live in California ad I also had a tonneau cover.

Well, that stinks! I hope the security camera captured easily identifiable information, and that your baby is back to normal ASAP.

I wonder if it was the same car I saw when I visited about four years ago or if it is a new one. Hope for a quick fix and some justice for the thief.
